Instead of Earth Day, Agassiz Elementary School celebrates Earth Week! This year, the week culminated with the first every Chicago Park District Beach Clean Up! On Friday, April 24th, students, teachers, staff members and parent volunteers, flooded to the front entrance play lot to take a "Rainbow Warriors" picture. Students and staff wore coordinated teeshirts forming the colors of the rainbow before loading onto eleven buses headed to as many area Chicago Park District Beaches. Classrooms paired up with their "Bulldog Buddies" to travel as far north as Rogers Park and as south as Ohio Street Beach. Students gathered hundreds of pounds of litter, trash and recyclables preparing the beautiful Chicago Shore Line for the summer!
